Moscow bar refuses to disbar well-known defense lawyer The Moscow bar association has refused to disbar a well-known defense lawyer known for representing jailed billionaire Mikhail Khodorkovsky and Russian opposition figures, an official said Thursday. … Olga Martsinyuk, a secretary for the Moscow Board of Attorneys, confirmed the board had decided Thursday not disbar Moskalenko, but gave no further details. The decision comes nearly two weeks after a board committee also recommended against disbarment. … “I think that by trying to control my lawyers, the prosecutors are not defending but violating my rights,” he said in a June 8 letter.
