Video: Ballot Stuffing in Russia

Here’s a video clip of some apparent ballot stuffing under pressure in Russia from smena.info. If anyone knows more about this, or if it is just a hoax, let us know. UPDATE: Dutch journalist and blogger Remco Reiding has provided additional information about this video in a comment. Apparently, the woman in the video is L.V. Maksimova, committee member at polling station 730 in Otradnoye, Moscow, who is allegedly submitting all the ballots of people who did not show up vote. Incredible.

Hello James, Robert,I was at the press conference of Kasparov among others, where this clip was shown by Smena. I cannot confirm the authenticity of this clip nor what exactly is shown. But… it was said that the lady is L.V. Maksimova, committee member at polling station 730 in school nr. 240 in Otradnoye, Moscow. The lady is allegedly – about an hour before the polling station closes – using ballots of people who did not show up to vote. So she is said to be voting for them…Best regards,Remco ReidingNetherlands Press Associationwww.ruslandblog.nl

here’s another video on the subject, in which head of tsentrizbirkom churov is making a lousy attempt at dismissing the original video as a fake:http://brazzaville.livejournal.com/181145.htmllj user brazzaville notes that this interview with churov was aired at 3 am on the night following the election – and such a late hour may explain why it managed to get aired at all.

Thanks, Neeka – glad to hear that somehow they were able to get it on TV, even if it was 3:00AM.
