Legal Ramifications of the Russian-Georgian War

A group of law students in Georgia have prepared a brief examining the international law ramifications of the Russian invasion. This was forwarded to me from a lawyer colleague with contacts in Tbilisi. A few days have passed since this was written, but there are some informative arguments about the Jus ad Bellum of the initiation of hostilities. Naturally this just represents the Georgian view of the war, but if someone can track down a Russian legal argument, just let me know and I’ll post. Download the paper here.
