Vasily Alexanyan Undergoes Surgery to Remove Spleen

Vasily Alexanyan was once the Harvard-educated general counsel of Russia’s most successful and prestigious company.  Today he may be becoming the world’s first victim of prosecutorial murder via medical blackmail.  His story is an illustration of the unnecessary bureaucratic cruelty which has characterized the Yukos case.

Today RIA Novosti reports that he has undergone surgery to have his spleen removed.

How can he have been murdered if he is still alive? Shouldn’t you say attempted murder?
