Energy Blast – Feb 19th, 2009

Robert Dudley, the former CEO of TNK-BP who was ousted from the company by its Russian shareholders at AAR, is set to join the board of BP.  The Prime Minister of Japan called Gazprom’s new liquefied natural gas plant a window to Asia’, with Japanese customers to buy 65% of the plant’s total output.  South Korea is in talks to import electricity from Russia’s UES to Korea Electric Power Corp., to secure stable supplies.  Russia has no plans of entering OPEC, according to Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin.  Russia needs to strengthen its cooperation with OPEC, according to President Dmitry Medvedev.
