No Gay Marriage for Russia Quite yet

Irina Fet and Irina Shipitko are a lesbian couple looking to change public perceptions in Russia by succeeding in getting the country’s first legal gay marriage … however the latest court decision has swiftly dismissed their request.  Yet another check mark in the column making the Russian leadership most similar to the GOP, some of whom believe that gay marriage leads to socialism.

So I guess Russia’s refusal to allow gay marriage marks the final transition to free market capitalism?  Ignorance is a surplus good these days…

My own personal opinion is that if you are gay or lesbian and want to marry its not my decision to tell someone else they can’t love another person; however, on the other hand, supporting homosexual activity extremely aggravates me. My biased opinion is based on the fact that I feel homosexuals impose sexual activity on non-homosexuals which should be a violation of law. I know that when a lesbian hits on me I feel violated; therefore, they should, too , undergo a consequence such as an infraction of law. Supporting gay and lesbian marriages also encourages youth to participate and explore homosexual activity which is a negative influence on our children of today. Regardless, under the guidelines of certain regulataions and acceptable behaviors, I still feel that it is not my right to tell one person not to love another.
