During a trip to Austria this week, I had the pleasure of speaking with Eric Fey of Der Standard about the persecution of my client, the Jewish activist and author Stephan Templ.
The interview, in German, can be read here.
As I said in the interview, the case against Templ is a clear legal scandal – there are very few examples of rule of law countries that convict people on criminal charges when there has been no damaged party. I know show trials, and this is a show trial.
Mr. Templ has a long history of criticising Austria’s Nazi restitution policies, and the current discriminatory treatment being applied toward him brings forward many unpleasant comparisons to the recent past.
Full translation of the interview forthcoming.
