Departures Podcast: How Does the UK Stop its Schools to Prison Pipeline?

On this week’s episode of Departures I am pleased to be joined in our London offices by Cheryl Phoenix of The Black Child Agenda, a courageous organization which is working on the modest goal of tackling a massively entrenched system of institutional racism and bigotry in the British public sector.

Cheryl’s insights into the experiences and struggles of many black and African-origin children in the school system and social services sector is both harrowing and urgent for anyone who cares about human rights much closer to home than many of the far-flung places we often discuss on Departures. I have followed Cheryl’s work for years and I am a big supporter of her organization, and I hope after listening to this discussion, you will be too.
