Energy Blast – June 15, 2012

The cartel may be nonplussed at the moment, but should OPEC be more concerned about the advent of shale gas? wonders Reuters.  In BP’s new Statistical Review of World Energy it has announced the discovery of enormous gas reserves in Turkmenistan.  Exxon Neftegas, operator of the Sakhalin-1 project apparently plans to spend $75 million over the next three years to build a road linking the south and north of the island from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk through the Nogliki region to Okha.
