Energy Blast – April 13, 2011

What’s to become of the BP-Rosneft deal now that Igor Sechin has left his Rosneft post?  The deal’s deadline is Thursday, and TNK-BP is apparently not going to meet with BP before it.  BP’s impending annual meeting, all things considered, is looking to be ‘a particularly bad-tempered affair‘.  The CEO of Shell is in Moscow to hold talks with Gazprom heads about deals in Siberia and Asia, with a view to increasing shipments of LNG to Japan.  Norway’s Statoil says that the Shtokman field is its main focus in Russia: ‘it’s important for us to show that we can succeed in this and learn from it‘.
