Gazprom is poised to sign a deal with Azerbaijan to increase its gas imports to ‘as much as Azerbaijan is ready to deliver‘ during President Medvedev’s visit.  Amid plans to ‘double in size‘ and find foreign partners, Rosatom is trying to improve the reputation of Russian nuclear power.  China and Russia’s joint Tianjin refinery will receive 70% of its oil supplies at market prices from Russia.  The $10 billion worth of asset sales made by BP this summer was not motivated by the need to raise money to deal with the Macondo oil spill, says the company.  Oil industry workers in the US are protesting in an effort to have punitive measures, including the moratorium on deepwater drilling, lifted. ‘We make America run, we make America work, and they need to remember that.
