Is Russia planning to scrap the ruble?  Igor Shuvalov suggests that a common currency with Belarus and Kazakhstan could be introduced instead.  Finans magazine ranks Yelena Baturina, the CEO of Inteko and wife of Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov, as Russia’s most influential businesswoman, ‘topping a list that features many women known to have powerful husbands‘. Moscow’s City Hall is considering several business plans for the development of the Hotel Rossiya complex of hotels, restaurants, and movie theaters. Agricultural group and sugar producer Rusagro is planning a May IPO, of $250-300 million of its estimated $1 billion worth.  Steelmaker Severstal posted fourth quarter net losses of $162 million.  On the transparency drives of Alexei Navalny, ‘Russia’s most relevant political renegade‘, whose targets have included Gazprom and VTB.
