Today in Russian Business – Sept 6, 2010

The Moscow Times reports excitedly on last week’s news that a US-based company will buy six of Sukhois Superjets.  Yevgeny Chichvarkin is convinced that he will be killed in prison if he is extradited to Moscow following his London court case on September 13, and suggests that businessmen can only profit in Russia with the help of inside information.  The Independent reports that ‘the Interior Ministry has won a court order to secure a search warrant of the London address of an unnamed senior Hermitage executive‘, and ponders the likelihood of a diplomatic row.  Sochi’s seaport is now closed so that construction can begin on a new passenger terminal for the 2014 Olympics.
