Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov is being profiled on 60 Minutes (CBS) this weekend, and here goes a preview. I like Prok and the fact that he is coming to the United States, and I think that these flashes of independence could lead to something more, especially if he developed some social consciousness along the lines of Khodorkovsky or even Alexander Lebedev. Basically any time the West becomes interested in a Russian whose initials are not V.P. is a good day in my opinion. For others who see nothing but another Kremlin-approved appendage expanding his portfolio of assets, think of this way: it’s not like the New Jersey Nets could get any worse.
